Les soufflets de cardan se trouvent aux extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s des arbres. Ces soufflets d&rsquo;arbre de transmission requi\u00e8rent une attention particuli\u00e8re lors des op\u00e9rations d&rsquo;entretien sur le v\u00e9hicule.<\/p>\n<h2>Transmission de la puissance du moteur aux roues<\/h2>\n<p>Le moteur g\u00e9n\u00e8re l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie cin\u00e9tique que l&rsquo;on adapte \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide du rapport de transmission ou de la d\u00e9multiplication. La force est transmise \u00e0 l&rsquo;essieu arri\u00e8re par l&rsquo;interm\u00e9diaire de l&rsquo;arbre \u00e0 cardan et du diff\u00e9rentiel d&rsquo;essieu. Sur les v\u00e9hicules \u00e0 traction avant, la prise de force se fait directement au niveau de la bo\u00eete de vitesses, tandis que sur les SUV et les v\u00e9hicules tout-terrain, elle se fait via la bo\u00eete de transfert. Dans le cas des essieux traversants, un arbre de transmission rigide se d\u00e9place \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur du corps d&rsquo;essieu. Il est aliment\u00e9 en huile de lubrification au niveau des points de connexion. Cette configuration n&rsquo;est toutefois pas possible pour la traction avant, car les roues sont dirig\u00e9es. Comme toute articulation de ce type, elle est soumise \u00e0 de fortes forces m\u00e9caniques. Il en r\u00e9sulte une usure des joints. Le remplacement des joints de cardan est certes possible, mais plut\u00f4t on\u00e9reux. La lubrification des joints de cardan permet de limiter consid\u00e9rablement leur usure m\u00e9canique. Bien lubrifi\u00e9s, la dur\u00e9e de vie des joints de cardan augmente consid\u00e9rablement r\u00e9duisant ainsi les co\u00fbts de remplacement des joints.<\/p>\n<p>Outre l\u2019aspect \u00e9conomique, il convient de souligner le risque que repr\u00e9sentent des joints de cardan us\u00e9s pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Cela peut affecter la tenue de route et causer l&rsquo;usure excessive d&rsquo;un seul c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la bande de roulement. Sur une chauss\u00e9e glissante et en cas d&rsquo;aquaplaning, le v\u00e9hicule peut d\u00e9raper de mani\u00e8re incontr\u00f4l\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<h2>La solution : la lubrification permanente des joints de cardan<\/h2>\n<p>Utiliser des embouts de graissage comme sur les grands arbres \u00e0 cardan pour lubrifier les joints de cardan de l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur est une solution difficile \u00e0 mettre en \u0153uvre en raison de la petite taille des joints de cardan, mais aussi parce qu&rsquo;elle n\u00e9cessite beaucoup d&rsquo;entretien. En revanche, un soufflet en caoutchouc enfil\u00e9 sur le joint de cardan et \u00e9tanch\u00e9ifi\u00e9 au niveau des raccords ne n\u00e9cessite quasiment plus d&rsquo;entretien, car la graisse ne peut pas s&rsquo;\u00e9chapper. Ces soufflets en caoutchouc sont toutefois fortement sollicit\u00e9s. Pour permettre plus de flexibilit\u00e9 lors du braquage, de la compression et de la d\u00e9tente, les soufflets ont une forme en accord\u00e9on ou en ressort. Cela augmente leur dur\u00e9e de vie. Les soufflets d&rsquo;arbres d&rsquo;entra\u00eenement subissent n\u00e9anmoins des dommages :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>usure due \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge (les agents plastifiants s&rsquo;\u00e9chappent, le caoutchouc devient dur et poreux)<\/li>\n<li>rares vices de mat\u00e9riau<\/li>\n<li>rupture des soufflets \u00e0 la suite d\u2019une action ext\u00e9rieure ou d\u2019une surcharge m\u00e9canique<\/li>\n<li>utilisation dans des conditions extr\u00eames (chaud, froid, humide, sec, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Contr\u00f4le r\u00e9gulier des soufflets de cardan<\/h2>\n<p>Il est donc important de v\u00e9rifier r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement les soufflets de cardan du v\u00e9hicule. En r\u00e8gle g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, cela se fait dans le cadre du service apr\u00e8s-vente. Cependant, il n&rsquo;est pas rare que l\u2019entretien des v\u00e9hicules plus anciens soit insuffisant. Les m\u00e9caniciens \u00e0 qui l&rsquo;on demande de ne faire que le strict n\u00e9cessaire, comme la vidange d&rsquo;huile, ne proc\u00e8dent pas toujours \u00e0 un contr\u00f4le visuel du soubassement et du ch\u00e2ssis \u00e0 la recherche de dommages. Or, il est extr\u00eamement important que les soufflets de cardan soient en bon \u00e9tat.<\/p>\n<p>Selon l&rsquo;utilisation que l&rsquo;on fait d&rsquo;un v\u00e9hicule, la graisse peut s&rsquo;\u00e9chapper rapidement et des particules de salet\u00e9 peuvent adh\u00e9rer aux r\u00e9sidus de graisse. La sollicitation m\u00e9canique qui en r\u00e9sulte est si forte que les joints de cardan subissent une usure excessive. En peu de temps, le joint de cardan peut subir des dommages irr\u00e9parables et n\u00e9cessiter un remplacement. Un simple contr\u00f4le visuel n&rsquo;est pas toujours suffisant. En effet, le soufflet peut comporter des fissures ind\u00e9tectables de cette mani\u00e8re. Un contr\u00f4le approfondi est n\u00e9cessaire. Il convient de remplacer les soufflets au moindre signe de d\u00e9t\u00e9rioration. Le caoutchouc poreux et fissur\u00e9 en est un exemple.<\/p>\n<p>Les soufflets int\u00e9rieurs (c\u00f4t\u00e9 bo\u00eete de vitesses) sont moins sollicit\u00e9s (braquage \u00e0 l&rsquo;ext\u00e9rieur). N\u00e9anmoins, ces soufflets devraient \u00e9galement \u00eatre contr\u00f4l\u00e9s r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement. Si le soufflet ext\u00e9rieur est fendu, il n&rsquo;est pas forc\u00e9ment n\u00e9cessaire de changer \u00e9galement le soufflet int\u00e9rieur. Toutefois, un remplacement pr\u00e9ventif permet bien entendu de pr\u00e9venir les dommages. En outre, cela pr\u00e9sente un avantage en termes de co\u00fbts, car il ne sera pas n\u00e9cessaire de d\u00e9monter \u00e0 nouveau l&rsquo;arbre de transmission.<\/p>\n<h2>Soufflets de cardan : assurer une s\u00e9curit\u00e9 maximale et \u00e9viter les co\u00fbts inutiles<\/h2>\n<p>Des kits de montage adapt\u00e9s \u00e0 votre v\u00e9hicule sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 disponibles pour une somme modique d\u2019un \u00e0 deux chiffres. Le co\u00fbt d&rsquo;un arbre de transmission ou d&rsquo;un joint de cardan peut facilement atteindre plusieurs centaines d&rsquo;euros selon le v\u00e9hicule. Contr\u00f4lez donc r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement vos soufflets de cardan pour d\u00e9celer les \u00e9ventuels dommages. Plus le v\u00e9hicule et les soufflets sont anciens, plus les contr\u00f4les doivent \u00eatre fr\u00e9quents. Notez que le remplacement des soufflets de cardan n\u00e9cessite des connaissances techniques approfondies. Selon le mod\u00e8le, le r\u00e9glage des roulements de roue peut m\u00eame \u00eatre n\u00e9cessaire si l&rsquo;arbre est uniquement d\u00e9mont\u00e9 du c\u00f4t\u00e9 ext\u00e9rieur.
